The Prescott Badgers will head out on the road to square off against the Youngker Roughriders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Prescott will be strutting in after a victory while Youngker will be coming in after a loss.
Prescott took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They strolled past Flagstaff with points to spare, taking the game 30-13.
Prescott's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but James Hefferin led the charge by throwing for 124 yards and three touchdowns on only ten passes. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Phillips, who picked up 91 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Prescott didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Flagstaff to a completion percentage of just 44%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Kenny Miller-Terry and Noble Ortega, who each logged one passes deflected. Prescott wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 68.4%.

Prescott didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ortega and Miller-Terry. Miller-Terry has been hot recently, having also posted two or more receiving touchdowns the last three times he's played. Gunnar Parra was another major factor on D, making 13 total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Despite a strong season so far, Youngker has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They lost to Lake Havasu on the road by a 36-19 margin on Friday.
Although Youngker took the loss, they still got scores from Jonas Phillips, Larry Moore Jr, and Jeremiah Garcia.
The win got Prescott back to even at 4-4. As for Youngker, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Prescott has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 207.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Youngker struggles in that department as they've been averaging 182.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
