Tupelo took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Germantown, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Golden Wave narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Mavericks 8-6. The victory was familiar territory for the Golden Wave, who have now won three games in a row.

The team relied heavily on Mackinzie Frederick, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kailyn Hendrix, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Tupelo's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Germantown, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-7.
