The Solebury Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the Phelps Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Solebury will be strutting in after a win while Phelps will be coming in after a defeat.
In what's become a running theme this season, Solebury gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat New Foundations 81-52 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Solebury has posted since December 2, 2023.
Joell Idrovo was his usual excellent self, scoring 30 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Tyler Simpson was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Meanwhile, Phelps pushed their score all the way to 68 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 78-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of Life Center Academy. That's two games in a row now that Phelps has lost by exactly ten points.
The victory got Solebury back to even at 7-7. As for Phelps, they bumped their record down to 11-10 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Solebury beat Phelps 78-66 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Solebury since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
