The Happy Cowboys will head out on the road to face off against the Wildorado Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Happy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Wildorado likes a good challenge.
Last Friday, Happy's game was all tied up 24-24 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They took down Nazareth 46-30.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 70-24, which was the final score in Wildorado's tilt against Claude on Friday.
Despite their defeat, Wildorado saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Aden Woodard, who rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, was perhaps the best of all. Woodard was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards. Sterling Washington also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Happy's victory was their seventh straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.1 points per game. As for Wildorado, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
Everything came up roses for Happy against Wildorado in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 70-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Happy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
