Cherokee extended the longest winning streak in West Jersey - American this week by beating Pennsauken, 48-15. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Chiefs.
Lenape moved up to 71 from 97 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Indians climbed the ranks as a result of beating Rancocas Valley 28-22.
Cherokee's dynamic duo of Trevor Osler and Jake Powell proved tough for the Indians to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Osler threw for 165 yards and 2 touchdowns and Powell had 126 yards receiving. Robert Agnoni helped Cherokee's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 34 yards.
Eastern's Tom Flacco and Keshawn Segers led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Flacco has thrown for 1,680 yards this season, while Segers has 40 catches for 762 yards. Matthew Stickney from Pj Mehigan's team leads the league in rushing with 558 yards.
Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when the Vikings' Segers goes up against Lenape's Malcolm Anthony.
Next week's game between Eastern and Tim McAneney's team will feature an aerial matchup as Flacco tests his arm against Anthony's defensive ability.
An important game coming up in West Jersey - American this week will be when Dan Spittal's team takes on the Indians. The Vikings are currently in first, while Lenape is in fifth.
The Indians and the Red Devils played the closest game in the league this week, with the Indians eventually emerging with a 28-22 victory. Joel Bartow ran for 137 yards during the win.
