The Carlin Railroaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 27-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lund. If Carlin hoped to take revenge for the 52-28 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Despite the loss, Carlin still got an impressive performance from Bretta Melendez, who scored 11 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Melendez has scored all season.
Carlin's loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-14. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.9 points per game. As for Lund, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carlin the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome McDermitt at 4:00 p.m. on January 31st. McDermitt will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak. As for Lund, they will be playing at home against Jackpot at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
