The Westwood Panthers waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They breezed by Groesbeck at home to the tune of 81-29. With Westwood ahead 54-16 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Westwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brandon Russell, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Russell is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Daniel Robinson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Westwood is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. As for Groesbeck, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-19.
Westwood will head out on the road to challenge the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fairfield is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Groesbeck, they will be playing at home against the Black Cats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
