Brunswick Academy's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Tidewater Academy with a sharp 14-0 win. Considering the Vikings have won four contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brunswick Academy got a massive performance out of Lexi Vaughan Howerton, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Howerton a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Reed Walker, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Brunswick Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Trinity Episcopal gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 15-5 margin over Fredericksburg Christian. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Cooper Beatty made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Beatty was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-5.
In other batting news, Brooke Shelton was a standout: she went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Ainsley McNeer, who scored five runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.
Brunswick Academy's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Trinity Episcopal, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Brunswick Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Trinity Episcopal in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Will Brunswick Academy repeat their success, or does Trinity Episcopal have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
