After flying high against the Westwood Longhorns last Thursday, The First Assembly Christian Crusaders came back down to earth. First Assembly Christian's rough 56-35 defeat to Trinity Christian Academy on Friday might stick with them for a while. It was the first time this season that First Assembly Christian let down their fans at home.
Lekhy Thompkins got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 265 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also picked up 58 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Vailes, who threw for 174 yards and five touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.
First Assembly Christian's loss on Friday dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Trinity Christian Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
First Assembly Christian will head out on the road to face off against Fayette Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Fayette Academy's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three matches. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Tipton-Rosemark Academy at 7:00 p.m. Tipton-Rosemark Academy is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
