After a string of three wins, the Chaparral Wolverines's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were dealt a 66-30 defeat at the hands of Cherokee Trail. While losing is never fun, Chaparral can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Cherokee Trail is ranked first).
Despite the defeat, Chaparral saw an underclassman step up: Lauren Thompson scored 12 points. Thompson is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Jade Monroe was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
