NCSSM: Morganton are on the road again on Friday and plays the Mitchell Mountaineers at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, it was a hard-fought match, but NCSSM: Morganton had to settle for a 69-66 loss against the Vikings. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (64), NCSSM: Morganton still had to take the loss.
The losing side was boosted by Lawson Taylor, who scored 36 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Rahul Soletti, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Mitchell waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with five straight wins but they left with six. They walked away with a 60-51 win over Avery County.
NCSSM: Morganton dropped their record down to 4-10 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Mitchell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season.
NCSSM: Morganton came up short against the Mountaineers in their previous matchup last Monday, falling 77-73. Can NCSSM: Morganton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
