The Kingstree Blazers lost against the Marion Swamp Foxes last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Kingstree had to suffer through a rough 67-39 loss at the hands of Marion. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Kingstree has scored all season.
Kingstree lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Adarius Hilton, who scored 12 points. Antonio KIngcade was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Marion was led to victory by Gabriel Cusack and Jamorius Wilson. Cusack scored 14 points along with four steals, while Wilson scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamarius Williams, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Kingstree has not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season. As for Marion, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-8.
Kingstree will head out on the road to take on Andrews at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Andrews focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Tuesday. As for Marion, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lee Central at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Marion is facing Lee Central at the right time seeing as Lee Central is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
