The Milford Tigers suffered their closest loss yet this season on Saturday. They fell just short of Rockwell by a score of 63-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Milford lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Carson Cheney, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Sadler Barnes was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with nine assists.
He wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Milford were working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Leading Rockwell to victory were Luke Henderson and Roman Haueter. Henderson scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and two steals, while Haueter scored 19 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Henderson hasn't dropped below 15points for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was Micah Shattuck, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Milford's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Rockwell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Milford will play host again and welcome El Capitan/Centennial Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. El Capitan/Centennial Academy will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak. As for Rockwell, they will head out on the road to square off against Utah Military Academy - Hill Field at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Utah Military Academy - Hill Field is ranked 134th, while Rockwell is ranked 109th).
