Wood moved up to 557 from 603 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Monticello Empire. The Wildcats climbed the ranks as a result of a 34-0 win over Armijo.
Napa extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Rodriguez, 34-12. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Vintage's dynamic duo of Dylan Duprez and Brandon Beck proved tough for Vacaville to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Duprez threw for 77 yards and one touchdown and Beck had 73 yards receiving. Nick Locicero helped Vintage's passing attack out by catching one ball for four yards.
Jonathan Camacho was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 162 yards on 13 carries as Wood fell to the Bulldogs. Tim Beall also contributed to the rushing game with 61 yards on the ground.
Thanks to the talents of Tyler Bailey and Camacho Carlos Meraz's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Bailey leads the league in passing with 662 yards, while Camacho has rushed for 586 yards this season. Vacaville's Curtis Goins leads the league in receiving yards with 273 on 15 catches.
The top two teams in Monticello Empire will face off this week when first place Napa takes on second place Wood. Last week, Napa defeated the Mustangs, while the Wildcats beat the Indians.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Troy Mott's team takes on Wood. The Indians have allowed 136 points this season, while the Wildcats have given up 123. Napa allowed 12 points last week as it beat Rodriguez.
