The Dewey Bulldoggers will face off against the Tulsa NOAH HomeSchool Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Dewey is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.
Dewey barely beat Oologah the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Dewey put the hurt on Oologah with a sharp 15-2 victory on Thursday. The contest marked the Bulldoggers' most dominant win of the season so far.
Nathan Sloan and Easton Davis did most of the damage at the plate: Sloan scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Davis went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits Sloan has posted since back in March of 2024. Jay Murguia was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-2.
Dewey always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, the third road match was the charm for Tulsa NOAH HomeSchool, as they earned their first road win of the season. They had just enough and edged out Glenpool 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Jaguars have posted since April 18, 2024.
Tulsa NOAH HomeSchool's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Wilke, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Silas Goff also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Tulsa NOAH HomeSchool's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Dewey, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
Tulsa NOAH HomeSchool's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Dewey has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .474. It's a different story for Tulsa NOAH HomeSchool, though, as they've only averaged .342. Will they be able to contain Dewey's hitters?
Dewey suffered a grim 17-3 defeat to Tulsa NOAH HomeSchool when the teams last played back in March of 2021. Can Dewey avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
