It was a good run, but the Azle Christian Fighting Crusaders unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Victory Baptist Academy on the road and fell 65-32. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Azle Christian has suffered since December 16, 2023.
Victory Baptist Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaac Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 20 rebounds. Johnson hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 20 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Ruhl, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds.
Azle Christian's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-10. As for Victory Baptist Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.
Azle Christian will head out on the road to challenge Cornerstone Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Victory Baptist Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eagle Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
