The New Philadelphia Quakers will challenge the Tuscarawas Valley Trojans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (New Philadelphia 2.9, Tuscarawas Valley 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
New Philadelphia is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Madison Comprehensive just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 4-2. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 11, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Easton Miller was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Sara Cardani also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Tuscarawas Valley strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past East Canton 14-4. Considering the Trojans have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Brennen Reichman was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Reichman was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Elliott Wallick was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Arieana Wade, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Tuscarawas Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive games.
Tuscarawas Valley pushed their record up to 11-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for New Philadelphia, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.
Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. New Philadelphia hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .353. However, it's not like Tuscarawas Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .363. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
New Philadelphia took their win against Tuscarawas Valley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-4 score. Will the Quakers repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
