Slocomb is on an eight-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), Dale County a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Slocomb Red Tops will take on the Dale County Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Slocomb comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Slocomb suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Geneva, falling 56-8. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Slocomb has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Dale County was beaten by Geneva 58-21 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Dale County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 339th, while Geneva is ranked 97th).
Slocomb's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Dale County, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Slocomb strolled past Dale County in their previous meeting back in December of 2021 by a score of 33-18. Will Slocomb repeat their success, or does Dale County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
