The Scholars Guild Academy Spartans will face off against the Skipstone Academy Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Scholars Guild Academy knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Skipstone Academy likes a good challenge.
Scholars Guild Academy is returning to their home field after beating Victory Baptist on theirs, despite the fact Victory Baptist has dominated at home this season. The Spartans put the hurt on the Warrior with a sharp 10-4 victory on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Jacob Chupp made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. Chupp was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
In other batting news, Scholars Guild Academy let Justin Whitfield and Will Pittman run wild. Whitfield scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Pittman scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Pittman has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Joshua Strange, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Scholars Guild Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in six consecutive contests.
Skipstone Academy not only won two weeks ago, but they posted their biggest win since February 27th. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over Trinity Christian School of Griffin. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the LIONS: they've now won four in a row.
Cody Collum made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Collum was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Skipstone Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-10 otherwise.
In other batting news, Kade Gregory was incredible, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Jace Wilson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases.
Scholars Guild Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Skipstone Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-10.
Skipstone Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Scholars Guild Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .319. It's a different story for Skipstone Academy, though, as they've only averaged .225. Will they be able to contain Scholars Guild Academy's hitters?
Everything went Scholars Guild Academy's way against Skipstone Academy in their previous matchup back in March, as Scholars Guild Academy made off with a 15-0 victory. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
