Two dominant backs in Jaden Moore and Ronald Weathers are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Buena Park Coyotes will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Arroyo Valley Hawks at 7:00 p.m.
There was early excitement for Buena Park after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was Fullerton who ended up claiming the real prize. Buena Park was just a hair shy of victory and fell 22-21 to Fullerton.
Moore put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 154 yards and two touchdowns, and also caught a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Arroyo Valley stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Fontana 52-32. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Arroyo Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Weathers led the charge by rushing for 336 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Weathers hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tukutau Tupouata, who rushed for 111 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries.
Buena Park's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 5-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.0 points per game. As for Arroyo Valley, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.
