It may have taken triple overtime to finish the job, but Bixby ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They escaped with a win against the Mustang Broncos by the margin of a single free throw, 68-67. The victory was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on six straight.

Mustang's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christal Long, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 19 points in addition to eight boards and six steals. Those 19 points gave Long a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cherish Haywood, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Bixby pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Mustang, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-2.

Bixby didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 68-42 loss against Putnam City North on the 28th. As for Mustang, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 51-41 defeat against Edmond North on the 28th.
