At the plate, Resurrection Christian's victory was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Will Busby, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one double. Weston Johnson was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.
Resurrection Christian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Timnath struck out 12 times.
Liberty Common has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Resurrection Christian, they pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Liberty Common might still be hurting after the 18-3 defeat they got from Resurrection Christian in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
