The Brandon Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Seffner Christian Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The last four games Brandon has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Brandon saw some tournament action on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate 3-2. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by just one run.

02/18/25 vs Spoto | 1 |

Francis Ovalles was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-6. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Charles Revi Rodriguez, who got on base in four of his seven plate appearances with one double. That double was his first of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seffner Christian). Everything went their way against Spoto on Saturday as Seffner Christian made off with a 13-3 win. With that victory, the Crusaders brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Seffner Christian also got a great performance from Alejandro Hamana as he pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.
At the plate, Brayden Nanns was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Jenuel Ortiz, who scored four runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Seffner Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Seffner Christian's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6. As for Brandon, their record now sits at 5-8.
