In what's become a running theme this season, the David Crockett Pioneers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Tennessee as David Crockett made off with a 80-60 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
David Crockett got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Aaliyah Story out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. Story hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayleigh Doner, who scored 21 points along with five steals.
Despite the defeat, Tennessee saw an underclassman step up: Addie Wilhoit scored 25 points. Wilhoit has been hot recently, having posted 20 or more points the last four times she's played. Anna kate Kinch was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for David Crockett and bumps their season record up to 21-3. As for Tennessee, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-10 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. David Crockett will take on Cocke County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cocke County will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something David Crockett surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tennessee, they will be playing in front of their home fans against John Battle at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tennessee is facing John Battle at the right time seeing as John Battle is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
