Shipley pushed their score all the way to 57 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Abington Friends on the road by a decisive 75-57 margin. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Shipley of the 70-64 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Shipley still got an impressive performance from Will Littles, Jr, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Littles, Jr has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Matt Lange, who scored 14 points.
Shipley's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-14. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Abington Friends, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.
Shipley will head out on the road to take on the Red Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Pennington presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the in their respective states (the Red Raiders are ranked 16th in New Jersey, while the are ranked 400th in Pennsylvania). Abington Friends does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
