On Wednesday, the Heath Bulldogs's game was all tied up 19-19 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 49-39 win over Johnstown-Monroe. This was payback for Heath, who suffered a 43-29 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heath to victory, but perhaps none more so than Preston Devito, who scored 14 points. Ben Mason was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Heath's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Johnstown-Monroe, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
Heath will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lakewood at 7:15 p.m. Lakewood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 553rd, while Heath is ranked 173rd). As for Johnstown-Monroe, they will head out on the road to face off against Newark Catholic at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Newark Catholic is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
