On Saturday, Fabens ended up a good deal behind Santa Teresa and lost 52-36. While losing is never fun, Fabens can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 1604th in Texas, while Santa Teresa is ranked 99th in New Mexico).
It was another big night for erik saldana, who scored 25 points along with six steals for Santa Teresa. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Miguel Cano, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Fabens' loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Santa Teresa, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Fabens will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Irvin at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Santa Teresa will be home for the holidays to greet Cathedral at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
