Two dominant in Issac Pratt and Clayton Jones are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. Having just played yesterday, the Conifer Lobos will head out on the road to face off against the Thornton Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on January 20th. Conifer is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
Conifer suffered their biggest loss since December 2, 2023 on Friday. They were outmatched by Wheat Ridge at home and fell 77-38. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Conifer in their matchups with Wheat Ridge: they've now lost nine in a row.
Meanwhile, Thornton pushed their score all the way to 55 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a tough 76-55 loss at the hands of Aurora Central. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Thornton has suffered against Aurora Central since December 3, 2018.
Jones put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 13 points along with nine rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kainoa Miller, who scored 11 points.
Conifer's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Thornton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-5.
Conifer strolled past Thornton in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 63-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Conifer since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
