Basketball Game Preview: Antonian Prep Apaches vs. Savio Eagles

Antonian Prep has gone 9-0 against Savio recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Antonian Prep Apaches will welcome the Savio Eagles at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Antonian Prep's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups.

Last Friday, everything went Antonian Prep's way against TMI-Episcopal as Antonian Prep made off with a 72-48 victory. The Apaches have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 games by 21 points or more this season.

Antonian Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Edison Onwe, who went 9 of 17 en route to 22 points and six rebounds. The contest was Onwe's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Amare Guerra was another key player, putting up 16 points and five boards.

Antonian Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 16 consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Savio was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 100-32 loss at the hands of St. Michael's. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 973rd, while the Warriors are ranked fifth).

Antonian Prep is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 29-4 record this season. As for Savio, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16.
