The Father McGivney Catholic Griffins will challenge the Bunker Hill Minutemen at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Father McGivney Catholic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.6 points per game this season.

Father McGivney Catholic fought the good fight in their overtime match against Marissa/Coulterville on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Meteors by a score of 57-54. The Griffins haven't had much luck with the Meteors recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Chase Jansen, who posted 19 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of David Carroll, who went 5-for-10 on his way to 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Father McGivney Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Bunker Hill came up short against Southwestern on Friday and fell 38-30. The Minutemen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Father McGivney Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 14-17. As for Bunker Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-19.

Father McGivney Catholic came out on top in a nail-biter against Bunker Hill in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, sneaking past 55-52. Will Father McGivney Catholic repeat their success, or does Bunker Hill have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
