After two games on the road, Benton is heading back home. They will take on The Harrisburg Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Benton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Harrisburg likes a good challenge.
Last Friday, Benton got themselves on the board against Pinckneyville, but Pinckneyville never followed suit. They blew past the Panthers 41-0 on the road. The result was nothing new for Benton, who have now won four contests by 22 points or more so far this season.
Benton's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Riley Spencer, who gained 104 total yards and a touchdown, and Tiffin Kouzoukas, who threw for 161 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes.
Meanwhile, Harrisburg came up short against Herrin on Saturday and fell 17-7. Harrisburg has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Benton's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-3. They've been dominating across those matchups too: they took their wins by an average of 32 points. As for Harrisburg, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Benton skirted past Harrisburg 24-21 in their previous meeting back in September of 2022. Will Benton repeat their success, or does Harrisburg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
