The Grace Christian Crusaders will square off against the Cary Christian Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Grace Christian 2.6, Cary Christian 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Grace Christian is headed into the match having just posted their closest victory since March 13th on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past East Wake Academy 5-4.
Luke Roupe made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Roupe was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Landon McDonald looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Grace Christian got a big performance out of Caleb Ellis, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Pena Jimenez, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Cary Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Durham Academy on Friday and fell 3-2. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Like Grace Christian, Cary Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Jacob Reeves. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Reeves was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.
Reeves wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mason Ashworth, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Zachary Lindstrom also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Cary Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Grace Christian, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.
