The Magruder Colonels scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They managed a 75-70 victory over Watkins Mill. The victory was familiar territory for Magruder who now have seven in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Magruder to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sekou Bangoura, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Gerald Suarez was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Magruder's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Watkins Mill, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-15.
Magruder will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Poolesville at 7:15 p.m. Magruder has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 598 points over their last nine contests. Watkins Mill is on the road again on Tuesday and plays Damascus on February 13th.
