2A-2 Region II District 5 recap Oct. 30, 2012
Nocona extended the longest winning streak in 2A-2 Region II District 5 this week by beating Holliday, 14-13. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
City View moved up to 779 from 813 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Mustangs climbed the ranks as a result of topping Henrietta 7-0.
Alvord's dynamic duo of Cassidy Patterson and Ty Silvey proved tough for Jacksboro to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Patterson threw for 139 yards and Silvey had 76 yards receiving.
Tate Fenoglio was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 33 carries, he ran for 175 yards as Nocona lost to the Tigers.
Nocona's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Nocona feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hayden Hill has thrown for 508 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Edward Cardoza has 16 catches for 284 yards. Fenoglio leads the league in rushing with 1480 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Jacksboro takes on Brad Keck's team. As it stands, BriaHodnett's team is in third, while the Nocona are in first.
The Tigers took down Alvord 40-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
