Mesa Verde has gone a perfect 3-0 against Highlands recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The two teams, after both having extra time off, will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mesa Verde has three straight wins, Highlands has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Mesa Verde is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against San Juan last Thursday as they made off with a 29-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mavericks, who have now won four games by 16 runs or more so far this season.
Ava Gallegos was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
