After a string of five wins, the North Callaway Thunderbirds's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. Their tough 58-36 loss to Montgomery County might stick with them for a while. The contest was a close 19-17 at the break, but unfortunately for North Callaway it sure didn't stay that way.
Despite the loss, North Callaway still got an impressive performance from Riley Blevins, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
North Callaway's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Montgomery County, their win was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Callaway will be home for the holidays to greet Hallsville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hallsville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 237th, while North Callaway is ranked 115th). Montgomery County will be home for the holidays to greet Monroe City at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
