Basketball Recap: Crest Ridge Snags Ninth Win in Last 11 Games

Crest Ridge lost to Lutheran back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Crest Ridge Cougars put the hurt on the Lutheran Knights with a sharp 57-32 win. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 23 points or more this season.

Leading Crest Ridge to victory were Laney Wilhite and Kayley Marten. Wilhite went 7 of 8 on her way to 17 points and seven rebounds, while Marten went 6 for 14 en route to 12 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Those 17 points gave Wilhite a new career-high. Savanna Camp was another key player, going 5 for 11 en route to 10 points.

Crest Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Crest Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Lutheran, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Crest Ridge has already played their next contest (against Lexington), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lutheran will take on Plattsburg at 6:00 p.m. on February 3rd.
