The Spring Valley Grizzlies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They fell 76-68 to Coronado. While losing is never fun, Spring Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Coronado is ranked fifth).
Despite the loss, Spring Valley still got an impressive performance from Alijah Adem, who scored 28 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. Adem has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Joshua, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Spring Valley bumped their record down to 3-11 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Coronado, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8.
Spring Valley will head out on the road to square off against Arbor View at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Arbor View has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 405 points over their last six matchups. As for Coronado, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Foothill at 6:30 p.m. One thing working in Foothill's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
