Douglass had a senior duo take command as Mekhi Smith rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries and Ajahne Allen rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns. Smith was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 63 yards.
Douglass' victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Friendly, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Douglass will take on Surrattsville at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Surrattsville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Douglass is ranked 75th). Friendly will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Calvert at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
