With a playoff win on the line, Canton South rose to the challenge on Saturday. They snuck past the Crestview Rebels with a 46-42 win. The victory was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on three straight.
Addison Rhodes and Luvrain Gaskins certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Rhodes dropped a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds, while Gaskins almost dropped a triple-double with ten points, 18 boards, and nine blocks. The match was Rhodes' 20th in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bri DiCross, who posted five points and seven boards.
Canton South's record is now 17-7. As for Crestview, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-4.
Coming up, Canton South will take on Liberty-Benton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty-Benton will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Canton South surely won't give up without a fight. Crestview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
