The Faith Academy Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the UMS-Wright Prep Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Faith Academy never let their opponents score. They claimed a resounding 29-0 victory over Williamson at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Faith Academy.
Faith Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyrell Dotson, who rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Dotson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards. Another player making a difference was Tynean Goodwill, who picked up 138 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, everything went UMS-Wright Prep's way against Citronelle on Friday as UMS-Wright Prep made off with a 24-0 victory.
UMS-Wright Prep had a senior duo take command as Joe Lott rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns and Jake Jaye rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown.
Faith Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for UMS-Wright Prep, their victory also bumped their record up to an identical 5-3.
Faith Academy and UMS-Wright Prep were almost perfectly matched up in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, but Faith Academy suffered an agonizing 21-20 loss. Thankfully for Faith Academy, Cole Blaylock (who rushed for 145 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.3 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
