The Governor's School for Science & Math Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were the victim of a tough 42-20 loss at the hands of Green Sea Floyds. Governor's School for Science & Math lost against Green Sea Floyds in their previous head to head last Monday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 33-28 score last time.
Green Sea Floyds found their leader in underclassman Tanisha Myers, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and seven steals. Myers also pulled down eight+ rebounds for the first time this season. Shantavia Hilliard was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Governor's School for Science & Math bumped their record down to 0-2 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.7 points per game. As for Green Sea Floyds, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4.
Governor's School for Science & Math will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Atlantic Collegiate Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Green Sea Floyds won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Aynor at 6:30 p.m. on December 8th. Aynor is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
