Post Falls is 1-9 against Coeur d'Alene since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Post Falls Trojans will head out on the road to take on the Coeur d'Alene Vikings at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Post Falls focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
Post Falls suffered their biggest defeat since November 18, 2023 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 83-47 loss at the hands of Lake City. Post Falls has not had much luck with Lake City recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
The losing side was boosted by Brooklynn Brennan, who scored 19 points along with five assists and two steals. That was a full 40.4% of Post Falls' points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Myckenzee Mitley was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, Coeur d'Alene put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Lewiston as Coeur d'Alene made off with a 58-35 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Coeur d'Alene has posted since November 30, 2023.
Coeur d'Alene's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Brookeslee Colvin, who scored nine points along with eight steals and five assists, and Maddie Mitchell, who scored 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Holecek, who scored ten points.
Post Falls' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-10. As for Coeur d'Alene, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with that victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's contest: Post Falls have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 5.1 threes per game. It's a different story for Coeur d'Alene, though, as they've been averaging only 8.3 threes per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
