The Healdsburg Greyhounds will square off against the Rancho Cotate Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Healdsburg is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.3 points per game this season.
Last Friday, Healdsburg came up short against St. Vincent de Paul and fell 63-54. The Greyhounds have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ethan Overdorf, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game. Cooper Conrad was another key player, going 5 for 11 on his way to 17 points.
Even though they lost, Healdsburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Rancho Cotate entered their tilt with San Marin on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 52-44.
Healdsburg better keep an eye on Adam Pengel. He was instrumental in Rancho Cotate's win, putting up 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Izayah Rush, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards.
Rancho Cotate pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Healdsburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Healdsburg has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 31.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Rancho Cotate struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.1 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Healdsburg ended up a good deal behind Rancho Cotate in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, losing 64-46. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Pengel, who went 9 of 17 on his way to 26 points. Now that Healdsburg knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
