On Thursday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Hutto had to settle for a 54-52 defeat against Prestonwood Christian. While losing is never fun, Hutto can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 545th, while Prestonwood Christian is ranked 102nd).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Prestonwood Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kierstin Rink, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Allie Swindell, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Hutto's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Prestonwood Christian, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 17-2.
Hutto won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Greenwood at 9:00 a.m. on December 29th. Greenwood is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. Prestonwood Christian and Lubbock will round out the year against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at.
