The Lafayette Christian Cougars came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 50-15 victory over Praise Academy at home. That looming 50-15 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Lafayette Christian yet this season.
It was another big night for Carmen Bridges, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Lafayette Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Marta Oria, who scored 12 points along with eight steals and five rebounds.
Lafayette Christian is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Praise Academy, they are on a 18-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.
