The Carvers Bay Bears can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They really took it to Hemingway for the full four quarters, racking up a 60-9 win on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-7.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Carvers Bay to victory, but perhaps none more so than K'moni Taylor, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Taylor has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Jerchel Geathers-Washington was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Carvers Bay's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Hemingway, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carvers Bay will take on Scott's Branch at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Scott's Branch will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while Carvers Bay is ranked 104th). As for Hemingway, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Johnsonville at 6:30 p.m. Johnsonville is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
