Basketball Recap: Anderson Prep Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Markus Mcclain and Lincoln Fathauer

It was fun while it lasted, but Anderson Prep Academy's undefeated season came to an end after four games on Wednesday. They took a 70-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cambridge City Lincoln Golden Eagles. The loss was the Jets' first of the season.

Lincoln Fathauer and Markus McClain certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Fathauer went 8 for 16 on his way to 20 points, while McClain went 6 of 10 en route to 17 points. Fathauer's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zamarion Bryant, who posted nine points.

Aidan Munchel continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Cambridge City Lincoln, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance gave Munchel a new career-high in rebounds. Dustin Lunsford was another key player, going 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Anderson Prep Academy fell to 4-1. As for Cambridge City Lincoln, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Anderson Prep Academy will challenge Seton Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Seton Catholic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season. As for Cambridge City Lincoln, they will square off against Knightstown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cambridge City Lincoln also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 65.2 points per game.
