The Cupertino Pioneers are headed away from home for the first time to  take on  the Evergreen Valley Cougars  at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Evergreen Valley took a loss in their last  match and will be looking to turn the tables on Cupertino, who comes in off a win.
Cupertino gave up the first  runs last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them  down. They put the hurt on Terra Nova with a sharp  16-6 win.
 Jasmyne Llanos spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned  (and three unearned) runs on four hits. What's more,  she gave up only three  walks, the fewest she's  had since back in February of 2024.

 At the plate, Cupertino got a  massive  performance out of  Talitha Vaughn, who  scored three  runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most  runs  Vaughn has posted since back in April of 2024.  Shelby Apostolo was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with four  RBI and two  doubles.
 Cupertino  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Terra Nova only posted  an  OBP of  .444.
 Meanwhile, Evergreen Valley had to hit the road for their first game and  it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against  Prospect on Friday, falling  17-0. Sadly, the  loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 20 in a row.
 Everything went Cupertino's way against Evergreen Valley in their previous meeting  back in February of 2024, as Cupertino made off with  a  24-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cupertino since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
