Mountain Range has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Loveland Red Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Mountain Range's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games.
Mountain Range scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They strolled past Brighton with points to spare, taking the game 83-66. Given Mountain Range's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Brighton is ranked 229th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mountain Range's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Moses West, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. West hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Mataeo Jourdan, who scored 24 points.
Loveland posted their biggest win yet this season on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Thompson Valley 77-49 on the road.
Loveland's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Zayne Desouza, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds, and Trey Olsen, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Desouza hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Nic Rakowsky was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Mountain Range's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Loveland, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
Mountain Range skirted past Loveland 73-70 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mountain Range since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
